Thanks
for your CfP submissions until the deadline last week. The program
committee is going to arrange -a for sure interesting- agenda out of it.
You can expect the first draft for the agenda end of this week.
For
those who could not make it in time for the CfP think about to give
your talk at the barcamp on Friday. This is also a good option for very
current issues!
We warmly invite you to submit an abstract to the GeoIT- WhereCamp Navigation Conference2016!
The
conference call for participation is looking for contribution from all
sectors, e.g. industry, academics, open data / open source community via
the web portal, general issues via berlin@wherecamp.de until September 21st, 2016.
We are happy to announce the new edition of WhereCamp Berlin that would take place during the 3rd-4th of November 2016!
The
plan for this edition is to move forward to a new format- via an
association - and to share the current activities with more actors.
Starting
with Stanford WhereCamp in 2012 the event evolved from a pure barcamp
via campfire editions to a conference. Also we feel that our community
grow at the same time.
If you’re one of the geo industry players and you would like to be involved in our efforts please contact us at berlin@wherecamp.
WhereCamp
Berlin 2015 took place on November 26 & 27 in Berlin and brought
together industry leaders, experts and map enthusiasts, who shared
their vision and exchange ideas as to how maps, navigation and local
intelligence are evolving and transforming our everyday lives.
The
event was the best occasion for 36 speakers, 189 participants and 9
organizers to meet and share the latest news from the geo industry from
all around the world: Broomfield, San Francisco, Lagos, Beijing and from
all around Europe.
To shortly describe the experience from this year
we can only share what the participants have said: the conference
offered great networking opportunities, they’ve seen interesting
presentations and it was a rich experience.
The last day was focused on the wearables hackathon organized by komoot,
where a few passionate developers showcased some cool wearable apps. At
the end of the day 2 of the teams were awarded with 3000 euros offered
by Berlin Partner.
Thank you for helping us make WhereCamp Berlin 2015 happen!
WhereCamp
is a community geo-event that happens each and every year for the geo
community and with its incredible support. We are grateful and impressed
of the amazing support received, with a lot of people getting together
and joining efforts to make everything happen. This event could
not have happened without them!
To
help you find your way to Where Camp 2015, we’ve added a 3D venue map
of Berlin’s Beuth University (building A) to HERE Maps for Android. You
can get the HERE Maps application for free right here: https://pages.here.com/app/
We’re looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday!
On behalf of the organizers, we are looking forward to welcome you soon to the 5th edition of WhereCamp Berlin.
Starting
with Stanford WhereCamp in 2012 the event evolved from a pure barcamp
via campfire editions to a conference. Also we feel that our community
grow at the same time. And now it is time to share the current
activities with more actors via an association. Running activities are:
